Hi!

I believe in solving problems based on the value the solution will create. I’m a technologist, but I only want to solve business problems. Solving problems with technology is cool, but without a real underlying issue being solved the solution is really just a Rube Goldberg machine. With that in mind, I’m always looking for value when creating solutions.

I describe myself as a software generalist. Which means that the problems I solve span the gamut from the UI (frontend) to the database (backend). I’m also fairly technology agnostic so I don’t mind working in .Net, Java, Angular, straight JavaScript, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL for example. I do have technology strengths and weaknesses but one of my main strengths is learning new things.

As an aside, I've worked remotely for 5+ years and have noticed a difference between in-person and remote collaboration. When working together in-person, a whiteboard is a highly used tool. In contrast, using one is generally ignored when working remotely. I think if there was an easier way to display and interact with a whiteboard while collaborating remotely, people would want to use that option. I started Whiteboard Collab as an attempt to create this solution.

In my free time I find myself exploring problems and ideas. Click here for a sample of various project explorations. Sadly, I can’t link to any work I’ve done for most of my clients because the work runs behind company firewalls as core business applications.

I also love landscape photography.

Thank you for your time!Casey Haralson
